Time Heals into Numbness!

Photo by Mathias Reding Bind to the hands of time Playing seconds in a flute delight As they whisper lies of numbness Deemed to be a healing  Over hours into minutes To emerge in days... I always wondered why we regard scars to heal over time. Yet in reality that seems to be the strangest concept ever. In Zimbabwe, we have this proverb that says "Chinokangamwa idemo" which perfectly sums up the fact that we don't forget situations that scarred us but we become numb to them. In as much as try to act macho about them, they shape what we become. Yes, we might claim that isn't the case. But we all know that life circumstances make be who we become. So time never heals us but we become numb to our past situation not totally forgetting the experience. Nb: "Chinokangamwa idemo" means "the axe is the only one that forgets."
