Culture infected by "Pull Him Down Syndrome"

"Pull Him Down Syndrome" is a virus that is more prevalent in Africa and is even more dominant in marginalized communities than it is in affluent ones. This syndrome have affect many brilliant ideas from being pursued due to the use of fear as a controlling element. As much as it is found within the communities it is also regrettable to say that it also found infused in other organizational culture. This is because they will be trying to control people who might have innovative ideas that can transform the organization (enforce change) as people will use discouragement as the base to stop an individual from speaking out. Most of the managers who are at the pinnacle to any organizational culture might also embrace it because there are afraid that the individual with the innovative ideas might take there post in the organization. So as a means of protecting their jobs the use the virus to stop subordinate's from coming out with ideas.

This culture have led most of companies to regret when they loose some individuals that is more determined to apply their ideas. In Zimbabwe, there are  a couple of entrepreneur's who have emerged because of this for instance the Founder of Nyaradzo  Assurance Funeral Services is rumored to have pitch his idea to the company that he worked for which had a high capabilities of implementing the idea but the idea was discarded. So he end up going out on his on and implemented the idea that have made his company one of the biggest blue chip company in the country. As it now covers many people's funeral policies making it one of the biggest assurance funeral service.

The example above is to illustrate that if a culture is integrated with the syndrome have a problem of causing some brilliant ideas that can bring up Africa to platform where it should to be lost. Another good example is the story of Eng. Daniel Chingoma back in the 2000s he made a helicopter that used water as it's fuel. Instead of seeing a lot of local investor including the government jumping on the project they were quick discard the project. In today's world if that project had been taken seriously it might have brought many billions, jobs and even the economy of the country might have been blooming. This is because the world is now looking for green solution as fuel as we are moving from fossil fuel to green fuel. Let's take a look at companies like Tesla in the USA, it have grown big with the idea of electric cars that have become more of futuristic model of cars. The helicopter could have propelled Africa at strategic position as most of raw materials need to build the helicopter is found in Africa etc platinum is mined in Africa and export out the continent before being processed and returned here as planes now expensive.

This is to illustrate that culture that has the virus usually put us at an disadvantage as it limit the growth that should have occurred in Africa. If we are to develop we need to cure the "PHDS" as it have led to most of the important ideas to be lost along the way. This virus can be diagnosed to eminent from the mind as we are enslaved by fear that we push it on to the culture so as to make it look normal and yet it isn't. Let look at USA they have embraced a culture that promote ideas to be brought forward and be implemented that have create it to become one of the major economic power house in the world. We can look at Singapore, China there economies have become stronger because of the culture there have embraced. This have resulted in one of the country minting millionaire at an exponential rate.

In conclusion the way embrace certain things in the culture whether social or in business have a high impact on how the economy perform. Therefore it is high time we start to engage policies that transform Africa into a power house. That is remove a culture that pushes fear on others to come out with brilliant ideas. This also the same with the rest of the world the moment we implement the "Pull Him Down Syndrome"(PHDS) we tend cost our respective countries of blooming economies.
