African Literature Anchor to Culture Preservation.
In no shades, I bury myself past my past ignorance. Held hostage by a passage that is an elusion of my very existence. Intrigued by a culture that bears scars upon my soul in the vice of modernization. Guilt infused that I shamefully decline to speak the truth about the hand that has murdered my history.
Over the past years the truth of the above, passage had been a true reflection of myself. Dancing to the tempo of the vice I understood not and still don't. However in recent times I have found myself devouring on literature that makes sense to who I am and where I am from. Not that I detest the western influence of Western artistic work.
This kind of negligence have made our literature fail to document our history, that is why I now appreciate the works of the likes of Tsitsi Dangarembwa. Who captured our history in a story though fictional it does carry our identity. African literature is supposed to carry lessons that we no longer find from folklores as families became distant.
Learning of this makes me to realize we need more writers who infuse our past that we forget not where we came from. Knowing this would help us to ensure our culture and history is preserved as raw as it can be. And not as spoils of those in power who have a tendance of changing history to fit their narrative.

Winding down, it is imperative that we keep writing our history in our literature. This will enable the next generation to know our story when studying it in the future.
